MR. SULAIMAN A. DAWOOD writes under the kunya of Abu Talut. He is a Vietnam War veteran trained in combat photography and photo journalism. Currently he is the technical advisor for the Islamic Post.
He converted to Islam in 1975 and travelled to Pakistan to participate in the Afghan Jihad campaign in 1982 where thousands of American Muslims volunteered to fight the Russians. He holds qualifications in Islamic sciences from the Jamia al-Ghausia, Lahore, Pakistan.
He was the production editor for Insight, 1993-1995; production editor for the Islamic Post, 1995-1997. He is also a member of Muslim of the Americas Inc.
