About The Society
General Information:
The Aviation Society of Ireland and its
magazine AVIATION IRELAND came into being in 1969. It developed from the "
Irish Society of Aviation Enthusiasts " founded in the early sixties. It
grew steadily establishing a Cork Branch in the 1970's.
The Society now has several hundred members
including many who have been with the Society from the beginning, the majority
of whom live in Ireland but we also have members in the UK, the USA, Australia,
and Europe.
Our
Society has a number of objectives including the fostering of interest
in and education on, aviation matters in Ireland.
