Eólaíocht
Bhí seachtain eolaíochta againn le déanai. D'fhoghlaim gach duine go leor. Ar An Aoine bhí taispeantas ag na h-ardranganna do na páistí óga agus do na tuismitheoirí. Is muinteoirí maithe iad na páistí sna h-ardranganna. Féach ar na físeanna thíos.
Science week was held in Inver National School recently. Everyone did different experiments and on Friday afternoon the children in Third, Fourth, Fifth and Sixth classes demonstrated their favourite experiments for the younger classes and for parents. See videos below.
Science week
Science week started on the 23rd of February and lasted until the 27th of February.
We practised a lot of experiments during the week like the coke eruption, balloon in the bottle, magnetic plane, floating and sinking diver and discovering how we use our vocal chords to talk and other experiments too. In the balloon in the bottle experiment, we learned how the vacuum pulls the balloon into the bottle. In the coke
eruption when the mentos drops into the coke it causes thousands of carbon dioxide
bubbles to form and when the carbon dioxide gas is released it pushes all of the
liquid up and out of the bottle. In the sinking and diving experiment if you squeeze the bottle, is pushed up into the pen top squashing the air into a smaller bubble. The pen top now has more water in it making the diver heavier so it sinks.
We practised a lot but sometimes the balloon in the bottle experiment didn’t work. While we practised the experiments we had lots of fun. Friday was the last day of science week, so we preformed for the younger children in the school and our parents. 5th class and 6th class preformed the experiments along with 3rd and 4th class. All the
experiments worked. I think all the parents enjoyed it and the little children’s
favourite experiment was probably the coke eruption. We enjoyed it too.
