To mark the occassion a Centenary Committee was set up to co-ordinate suitable events.

The working Committee is under the capable direction of Chair Person: Mrs. Peggy Healy Carrigeen.

Windows of the Past
These are but a few of the generations which passed through the school on the little rock.
Click on each image to get a larger view and be patient! as the files are large! All names may be found in the history of Carrigeen School, entitled "To School by the Banks". The signifance of the "banks"  is well known to those who walked to school on raised banks or "ditches". The nearest "bank" is from the Church to Licketstown.

The  book is  being  officially  launched  at  Ryan's  Place  Thursday  June  28  at  8.30pm.  Copies  will be  signed  by  author.  Kilkenny  Local Radio will be  present.  All  are  cordially  invited  to  reception of  wine  and  cheese.
