Green
Schools is a European wide base project of FEEE , Foundation for
Environmental Education in Europe.
Elsewhere in our pages Carrigeen has a "no litter
campaign".
"Green -Schools" is more than a "no litter
zone".
Schools involvel in this campaign may enter for a "Green Flag", simliar to the "Blue Flag" which is in operation for clean beaches.
The Department of the Environment, An Taisce, Local Authorities ,Schools, pupils, teachers, parents and the Community are all partners.
Objective:
Litter Free Zones, Recycling of waste material, education and involvement of children and Youth Organisations, group organisational skills, whole school action for a better and friendlier environment.
