The Old Mill of Portnascully

There was a mill in operation in Portnascully many year's ago. It was owned by the Walsh family. It was operated by the mill wheel and the running stream.

Farmer's from many miles around came there to have their corn crushed.

The wheat was ground into flour and the oats into oat meal.

The Walsh brothers did all the work. Now they have long since passed on.

The mill is now idle and in ruins. Nobody did anything with the mill when the Walshes died .

The walls and the mill wheel are still there all covered with ivy.
