Carrigeen Primary School  Carrigeen Co. Kilkenny via Waterford

Carrigeen gets its name from the Irish  " Little Rock"

Situated on a hillock it has a panoramic view of the Suir Valley with the Walsh Mountains in the distance.

From the school door five counties may be seen, viz:
Kilkenny, Wexford, Carlow, Tipperary and Waterford.

The school provides a full curriculum to children from four to twelve years of age.

Sport

Sport plays an important part of school life at Carrigeen.
Gaelic Football, hurling, soccer, basketball are played and children of senior classes participate in organised leagues and inter schools competitions.

Carrigeen School is under the Patron of the Catholic Bishop of Ossory.
A Catholic Ethos prevails throughout the school. However we live in a pluralist society and cater for other Religious denominations.
Sound basic moral values acceptable to all creeds are cherished and promoted.
Diversity of cultures is respected by Management, Staff and Parent Body

 

 

Carrigeen celebrated its Centenary in Sept 2000.
