Cycling in Ireland

Cycling is one of the more popular sports in Ireland. It is an ideal way to discover the true beauty and charm of Ireland, at your own pace.

If you bring your own bicycle with you, it can be transported on the Irish Rail network. The additional fare for a bike depends on the journey length, but the maximum is IEP 6.00.

Rent-a-Bike

Raleigh Rent-a-Bike have independently operated bike rental stations in the main tourist centres. One-way rentals are possible from most rental locations. The typical charge is IEP 30 per week or IEP 7 per day. A one-way rental has an additional charge of IEP 12. A refundable deposit of IEP 40 is also required.

Some stations will also arrange accommodation and organise tours.

Raleigh Rent-a-bike centres operate in Dublin, Galway, Ennis, Kilkenny, Tipperary, Killarney, Sligo, Mayo, Limerick (with collection/delivery available at SNN airport), Dungarvan, and Wexford town.
