Wicklow Way Relay Leg 2 Curtlestown to Lough Tay Stage starts at car parking to Curtlestown Forest on North Glencree Road about 4 km from Enniskerry. From car park travel 300m further along Glencree road before turning left. Downhill section on tarred road, taking right fork after 200m. After a further 500m turn left into forest following WW signs. Follow good quality trail for about 1km. Here turn right onto smaller track for very steep section on poor quality track to descend to Knockree Road at small parking area. Take care here as WW does not follow hill run route you may be familiar with from Winter League. Cross road to right of parking area and follow wide trail down hill for about 500m and be prepared to take a sharp left turnoff the main track (easy to miss this). Follow narrow trail for a few metres through bushes, climb stile and descend 200m to riverbank. Turn left and follow river until wooden footbridge. Cross bridge and follow signs up to South Glencree Road. Turn left and enter Crone Forest car park after 400m. On leaving car park turn left after about 200m, follow trail through forest, at next fork stay left. There follows a long straight section (1.5km) followed by a few bends until you arrived out at an elevated section overlooking Powerscourt Waterfall (known as Ridge Rock). At the end of this section turn right into wooded section (many exposed root and very muddy). After about 500m you come out into open moorland, turn left and descend to Dargle River. Cross river by bridge and climb along forest edge. At end of forest bear left and then right and head along track towards Djouce Mountain. When track turn right to climb Djouce you continue straight on following WW signs. Track contours around Djouce, there is only one route here until you reach a board walk which will take you to the left all the way to the other side of White Hill, passing memorial to JP Malone the instigator of the WW. Follow windy trail through forest to car parking at forest entrance and stage end overlooking Lough Tay MG
