New date for Ulster Intermediate and Junior Championships

Please note the change of date for the Ulster Intermediate and Junior Championships. These will now be held over two days, Saturday and Sunday 13th and 14th December.

Nortel Ulster Senior Chess Championship

The Ulster Chess Union are pleased to announce that Nortel (Northern Telecom) will be sponsoring this year's Ulster Senior Chess Championship. Spectators are welcome at the Championship but please note the dress code at the tourament venue. The Ulster Chess Union thank Nortel for their generous sponsorship and the council of the Fortwilliam Golf Club for granting use of the Shaftesbury Room (27th-30th December. No cords, jeans or denims to be worn at any time in the club house. Jacket and tie must be worn in the mixed lounge and restaurant in the evenings).

Club secretaries are asked to ensure league fees are forwarded as soon as possible.

Irish Chess Union

Players interested in joining the Irish Chess Union: To become a member of the Irish Chess Union, send 18 pounds (includes subscription to Irish Chess Journal, six issues per year) to IRISH CHESS UNION, 66 Kincora Grove, Clontarf, Dublin 3 giving your name, grading (if any) and address.
