Photo Story -
The Enormous Turnip (An Tornapa Mor)

We made a Photo Story of a drama which we did in Irish. We acted the story of The Enormous Turnip or An Tornapa Mor in Irish class and then turned it into a Photostory. We hope you enjoy watching it as much as we did making it.

Materials
We did a project on different types of materials. We took photos at home of things made out of wood, plastic, metal and glass. Our parents helped us email the pictures to our teacher. We hope you like our project.

Rainbow
We learned all about Rainbows in class. We learned that there are 7 colours in the Rainbow. They are red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet. Sir Isaac Newton discovered the 7 distinct colours in a rainbow We learned that rainbows happen when sunshine and raindrops cross paths. Our rainbow was created by making handprints using 7 different colours and sticking them to the project board. We think it is a beautiful rainbow.

Spring Bulbs
We planted different flower bulbs in November 2010. We planted crocus, hyacinth, snowdrops, muscari, tulips and daffodils. We have been caring for them and now some of them are in flower. So far we have purple crocus and pink and blue hyacinth.

2D Shape Pictures
We made these pictures of houses, flowers, trains and monsters using different coloured paper shapes which we stuck on to a black background. We learnt about the different shapes like circles, squares, rectangles and triangles. Our pictures turned out very well.

Spring
We learned all about spring in class. We looked at Vincent Van Goghs painting Fishing in Spring. Spring covers the months of February, March and April. In spring trees start to bud, spring flowers bloom, the days get longer, new lambs are born, you will find frog spawn in ponds, birds start building their nests and ducklings and chicks are born. We drew pictures about what spring means to us. It is one of the nicest seasons.

Junior Infants Busy Bees
We are the Junior Infant class of Killeeneen National School and as you can see we are very busy bees.
